Manor House Redevelopment
The manor care home is an 8 week contract which consists of 2 phases.
First phase is to convert and old storage room to a dining room to accomodate more residents. Work involved was to install a new fire alarm and electrical works, lighting and heating. Dry line all external walls and plaster and paint. Coving to match existing spec which was traditional plaster coving know as egg and dart. The first phase was completed in three weeks with a glowing report from the home.
Phase 2 of the project was alot more technical with re-routing main central heating pipes, electrical sockets and lighting and nurse call systems. We removed two independant toilets and replaced with alarger en-suite bedroom which gave the home extra facilities. Re-plastered, painted and re-carpeted. We removed a disabled toilet and replaced with a communal kitchen, both for workng staff and residents. The aim of the kitchen was not to look commercial whist still having all the facilities of one. In accordance, we worked very closely with the home to achieve a workable kitchen with using contrast of material from solid oak, granite and stainless steel.
The area where our work was being done was in the heart of the home, meaning we needes to be flexable and at times not to be seen or heard.
